Handwriting in Saint Brigid's.

We are excited to introduce a new handwriting program in our school. Handwriting Without Tears is an award winning program , originating in the USA . We believe this program will raise our standards in handwriting and help eliminate reversals, spacing and formation problems.

We want handwriting to be fast, fluent and legible so our goal is to make it a natural and automatic skill.

Some changes ..

• Junior Infants will begin building capital letters using multisensory materials.
• The font is very simple for the lowercase letters.
• No tails on any printed letters even in Ist Class.
• The cursive font taught in 2nd class is a very fluid style.
• The s and r change in 2nd class and many of the letters have become looped to allow the joins.
• We will not teach cursive style capitals.
